National Parks are treasures for all to enjoy. Since 1872 the United States National Park System has grown from a single, public reservation called Yellowstone National Park to include 418 natural, historical, recreational, and cultural areas throughout the United States, its territories, and island possessions.
Joshua Tree became a national park in 1994. Slightly larger than Rhode Island, Joshua Tree attracts a score a visitors who enjoy camping, hiking, climbing, driving, birdwatching, as well as astronomy due to the lack of light pollution.
